Workshops
Our workshops are focused events, where adult, teens, and kids can explore a specific skill, topic or art form in a fun and engaging way. Hands-on activities, rites of passage, and games are led by experienced educators. Circus Curious workshops aim to inspire creativity, build confidence, and encourage collaboration, leaving participants with new skills and lasting memories.
Creativity in Motherhood
In this 4 week series, mothers come together to connect, move, and make art. Motherhood is hard - indescribably beautiful and devastating. Through writing, movement and various art forms, we’ll explore its joys and sacrifices, ultimately shaping a collaborative piece that reflects our shared experiences. No matter where you are on your mothering path, join us in building a supportive, creative community.
New series starting in October. Stay tuned!
The Puppet Made Me Do It: Workshop at Mystics, Makers, and Magick
Saturday, September 6, 2025
12:15 PM 1:30 PM
In this playful, hands-on workshop, we’ll transform the emotional tides of puberty, PMS, perimenopause, and menopause into bold, expressive puppet characters. Using socks, scraps, googly eyes, and a healthy dose of humor, we’ll give shape and voice to the moods we’re often told to silence. Participants are invited to explore the deep wisdom, wild swings, and raw power of their emotional experience—not as something to fix or hide, but as something to celebrate. Whether you feel like a storm, a spark, or a soft fog, your puppet will hold it all. No puppet experience needed—just come as you are, and let your chaos take form.
The Mirror and the Map: Workshop at Mystics, Makers and Magick
Saturday, September 6, 2025
3:45 PM 5:00 PM
In this introspective and imaginative workshop, we’ll explore the stories we carry—our childhood landscapes, family myths, personal legends—and reframe them through the lens of fairy tales and archetypes. Through creative mapping, guided writing, and personal storytelling, we’ll trace the symbols, patterns, and characters that have shaped our inner worlds. What fairy tale first spoke to you? Which roles have you lived—hero, outcast, caretaker, wild one—and which ones are ready to evolve? The mirror invites us to witness ourselves with honesty and compassion; the map guides us toward transformation and re-enchantment. No writing or art experience necessary—just bring your story and a willingness to see it anew. More information and
Grief, Art and Connection
Story, Movement, and Making Through Loss
Grief lives in the body, the voice, the silence, and the stories we carry. In this workshop, we gather to explore grief—not only as sorrow, but as transformation, reverence, and connection.
Drawing from storytelling and folklore across cultures, physical play, and creative expression, we’ll approach grief as something to be felt, witnessed, and shared. Through movement, writing, and collaborative art-making, participants will be invited to meet their own experiences of grief - whether rooted in the death of a loved one (human or animal), life transitions, relationships that have ended, or evolving identities.
We will look to those who’ve come before us, to traditions that make space for mourning and celebration, and to the possibility that art, movement, and gathering can help us metabolize what words sometimes cannot.
No performance, no prerequisites. Just the willingness to show up—tender, brave, quiet, messy, or joyful. All of you is welcome.
Begins November 2
